Lake District - Scafell Pike

We did the ascent to Scafell Pike, the highest point in England.

Scafell Pike is a mountain in the Lake District region of Cumbria.

It has an elevation of 978 metres (3,209 ft)above sea level, making it the highest and the most prominent mountain in England.

The ascent took in many different types of terrain underfoot, and having completed the ascent, descending provided its own challenges on the joints, pounding knees against the uneven rocks and jagged surfaces all the way down.

Royal British Legion Surbiton Branch fundraising marathon walk for veterans

From Surbiton branch social club down Esher, Cobham, Molesey, Hampton Court Kingston back to  Surbiton

Managed to keep pace with army veterans as we completed a task in baking hot weather

Money raised was for a veterans' coffee morning, where carers bring the old soldiers in from all over for some social interaction

Marathon Start time – 8.30 am.

Half Marathon Start time – 9.00 am.

10km Start time – 9.00 am.

I am part of a team of friends and family looking to raise funds to support two courageous women, Emma and Genivieve, who are both LIVING with Stage 4 cancers.

They are embarking on integrative options to provide support to their bodies while receiving medical treatment to beat their cancers.

We have all agreed that it is important that we are not just raising funds for them to access these options, but also that friends and others concerned and/or interested can observe and learn from their process either for themselves, or, on behalf of their loved ones.
